I have been making films since I was 10 years old. It all started with the family camcorder as the camera and family and friends as the talent. I used these tools for several years until my sister was gifted a DSLR camera one Christmas. This changed my world because now we could actually create high quality films.
Shortly after that, our church held a short film contest of which the grand prize was $2,000. This was a fortune to a couple of high schoolers! So we created a film and submitted it. We ended up taking 1st place and me and my sister split the grand prize. This was the beginning of my more professional work.
I eventually began doing smaller paid gigs to gain experience and hone my skills. During my senior year in high school I participated in a short film competition with a fellow student. The competition was through a national program called SkillsUSA. We participated in the state competition and created a short film (Creative Switch) which took the gold medal and we were awarded a trip to the national conference where we would compete against other state winners. While at nationals we took home the silver medal with our short film, MiGRAiNE.
After graduating high school I started Lisbon Creative, my small business. Since I learned the craft of filmmaking through competitions, quality and professionalism is very important to me. Every work of my has the highest amount of detail and attention put into it. Quality and affordability are what I strive for in my business.
